Here’s How to Get You Here for $2
Midway airport in Chicago is our closest airport and the main hub for Southwest Airlines. There is a shuttle service that runs all day long from Kankakee/Bourbonnais, IL, to Midway airport and then back again and it only cost $2 to ride.
It’s called the River Valley Metro.
Once you fly into Midway and gather up your bags, the River Valley Metro pick-up point is through Door LL6 located at the base of the escalator in baggage claims. With a short walk through the hourly parking lot you will arrive at ‘Regional Buses’. Hop on the River Metro bus and once you arrive in Kankakee/Bourbonnais we’ll pick you up and bring you to Stelle for free. It’s just a 30-minute drive for us to come and gather you up.
We do however require that you give us at least a three day notice beforehand so that we can coordinate our trips to town. If you request a pick-up on short notice (within that three day window) there is a $25 charge as we will probably have to hire someone to pick you up. Make sense?
How Much Does it Cost to Fly into Midway?
Here are some round-trip fares we found.
– Atlanta to MDW: $161
– Minneapolis to MDW: $196
– New York to MDW: $208
– Seattle to MDW: $270
– Los Angles to MDW: $296
– Dallas to MDW: $248
There are some flights for quite a bit less if you hunt!
Bottom-line?
If you are attending one of our trainings we will pick you up at the shuttle and bring you to Stelle for free.

What about O’Hare Airport?
Does your best flight deal land you at Chicago’s O’Hare field? While the $2 shuttle does not offer service to O’Hare, it is relatively easy to get to Midway from O’Hare by using the CTA’s public rail transportation. This adds to your travel time (allow two hours) but at a cost of $5-$10 for a day pass it might be worth it.
“L” Trains from O’Hare to Midway
At O’Hare you board The Blue Line train and ride it to the Clark/Lake Station. There you switch on to The Orange Line which brings you directly to Midway. Locate the ‘Regional Buses’ area and board the River Valley Metro shuttle. It brings you to Kankakee/Bourbonnais and boom – we’ve got ya from there!

Bus and Train
What about the Union Station in Chicago?
The lowest carbon footprint (besides walking and biking) is to travel by bus or train. If a bus or train takes you to the Union Station in Chicago then ride the $3 CTA Orange Line to Midway airport to pick up the $2 Metro shuttle to us. Here are some great detailed instructions on how to get from ‘Union Station’ to the ‘Orange Line’ and then on to ‘Midway’ airport.
Other Cities Along the Line
If the bus or train line you are taking runs through either Kankakee/Bourbonnais, Pontiac or Dwight, we will pick you up from these cities as well. Once again, we need a 3 days notice to coordinate your pick-up. If you notify us within that three day window there is a $25 transportation charge as we will need to hire someone for you.
When to Arrive for a Training?
If you are going to be traveling a good distance we highly recommend that you do this on the day before one of our trainings begins. This usually means you’ll be traveling on a Friday for a PDC that starts on Saturday at 1:00pm, or traveling on a Saturday for an Advanced training (in Design or Teaching) that starts on Sunday at 1:00pm. There is no extra charge for coming in early whether you are renting a room or setting up your tent. There are however no scheduled meals before the course starts so please bring some extra food with you. There are no ‘restaurants’ in Stelle.
